One of the ways we love to use our products is as salad dressings to keep them fresh and exciting. A drizzle, a spoonful, a splash — our small-batch, heritage-inspired condiments can turn even a simple salad into something bold, exciting, and deeply South Indian in character.

Here are some quick and easy salad dressing ideas using our artisanal products. Each one brings a different personality to the plate — tangy, spicy, or sweet — while staying true to our philosophy of where heat meets heritage.

1. Tamarind-Date Vinaigrette (with Date With Puli)

  • Base: 2 tbsp Date With Puli

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)

  • ½ tsp black salt

  • Whisk together until smooth.

👉 Perfect on roasted veggie salads or a crunchy green salad. The kodampuli tang adds depth while dates give natural sweetness.

2. Raw Mango Spice Dressing (with Maanga Jalsa)

  • Base: 1 tbsp Maanga Jalsa

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp jaggery (optional)

  • Shake well.

👉 Pairs beautifully with slaw, grain bowls, or cucumber salads. The Ramnad gundu chillies bring bold heat, while raw mango keeps it sharp and lively.

3. Chilli Jam Glaze (with Jam-a-Kaaram)

  • Base: 1 tbsp Jam-a-Kaaram

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Crushed fennel seeds (a pinch)

👉 Sweet, sticky, spicy — this doubles as a salad drizzle and a glaze for grilled paneer or chicken.

4. Hot Sauce Citrus Dressing (with Kandhari & Kokum Hot Sauce)

  • Base: 1 tbsp Kandhari & Kokum Hot Sauce

  • Juice of ½ orange

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt to taste

👉 Fruity and spicy with a kokum kick, this brightens up fruit salads, beetroot salads, or even simple lettuce and cucumber.

5. Tulsi-Green Chilli Herb Dressing (with Pachimirapakayi & Tulsi Hot Sauce)

  • Base: 1 tbsp Pachimirapakayi & Tulsi Hot Sauce

  • 2 tbsp yogurt (or hung curd)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped

👉 Creamy, herbal, and spicy — perfect for grain bowls, chickpea salads, or even as a dip alongside fresh crudités.

Why Kaaram condiments work as dressings

Unlike mass-produced sauces, our condiments are fermented, slow-made, and full of natural flavour complexity. That means you don’t need ten ingredients to make a good salad dressing — just one of ours and a little imagination.

Whether it’s a sweet-sour-spicy date Relish, a fiery raw mango pickle, or a chilli jam with fennel, there’s a Kaaram product to match your mood (and your salad bowl).

Next time you’re tossing up a salad, skip the bottled dressing and reach for a jar of Kaaram OK Please. Bold Indian flavours meet modern convenience — and suddenly, your everyday salad is anything but ordinary!
